About Ellie
Ellie Yang Camp is an artist, writer, and community educator from the San Francisco Bay Area. The proud daughter of Taiwanese immigrants, she is the author of Louder Than the Lies: Asian American Identity, Solidarity, and Self-Love (Heyday, 2024), a book that demystifies Asian American racial identity and the confusion of being stuck in the “middle” of the Black-white binary. Her previous lives include being a high-school history teacher, a full-time parent, a professional calligrapher, and an anti-racist educator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UC Berkeley and a Master of Arts in Education from Stanford.
This website includes a selection of her original educational materials that she would like to make available to other educators and learners.
Ellie is represented by Serendipity Literary Agency. The best way to stay updated with her current work is to subscribe to her free quarterly newsletter called Thought Process. You can also follow her on Instagram @eeewhysee.
